I'm amazed

Okay,
okay....
I was pursuing around the Anthroplogie website,
and
BAM!
I found this.
Doesn't this remind you of anything?!
Holy COW!
I had no idea they had something like this!
Seriously, no idea!
I think it's pretty exciting.
But get this, the real bracelet is $158,
mine was free!
YES!
I'm going to tell my hubby I just saved him, $158.

I-cord

Back to School!
YEAH!
Oh wait... that really doesn't effect me.
I have a 3 year old.
humm...
Back to school does mean,
Fall or
Autumn.
Which means, yarn crafts!
Knitting and crocheting.
It is still WAY too hot to have a bunch of yarn sitting on my lap,
so sadly I did make these last year,
but just finished them last week!
If you know anything about knitting,
I'm sure you have heard of I-cords.
Here is a great tutorial over at the Purl Bee, if you want to learn.
It is really pretty easy.
I whipped up these cords in no time.
I sewed on ribbon on the end of the I-cord.
Cut a hole in a couple scrap pieces of leather,
and hand sewed the leather in half.
They are a pretty easy accessory
for the coming cold months!
The only difference with the small white bracelet,
is the addition of grommets and a jewelry clasp.

bamboopink

I am not one of those people who loves the home party thing.
Candles, scrapbook paper,
stamps, cooking supplies....
Whenever I do end up going I always feel obligated to buy something,
that I don't need.
Well I am just showing you this,
because it is an awesome opportunity.
Is just starting.
The company has a cutting-edge business model, and the jewelry will be sold through consultants on personal websites and through “virtual” jewelry parties…no parties to host and no phone calls to make.

The company has begun a grassroots marketing campaign to virally spread the news of their upcoming launch via the internet. As of right now, it is not about selling the jewelry but about getting as many people signed up and ready to sell when the time comes.
When you get people to sign up,
you can earn free jewelry, cash or even an iPad.

When you sign up you get a free personal website (mine is www.bamboopink.net/BandyCanyon)
If you decide to not sell, no problem.
They will simply drop your name from their list and you get to keep any of the free items you earned by getting your friends to join.
You have until March 15th to sign up
and sign up as many friends and family members as possible with no consultant fees.   After that, the company will go into its Pre-Launch Marketing phase, followed with a major national marketing campaign making the opportunity available to everyone
Sign-ups are free, with no risk or obligation.
This company is going to explode in a few weeks with a national press release and official launch. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get in on the ground floor, and be one of the first to sign up.
It’s simple to sign up, go to my site:   www.bamboopink.net/Bandycanyon
You could win some awesome prizes
and you could be building a fabulous network for yourself very quickly.
We'll watch this company grow and build together and earn jewelry, cash and other great prizes along the way.  Once you signup, you’ll receive your own personal bamboopink website and be able to see each week’s prizes and promotions there.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this opportunity!

A Necklace and Sneak Peek

I hope you had as much fun as I had with skirt week.
I am still sewing like crazy for some reason,
but I thought I would give you a break,
and show you a necklace instead.
A few strands of seed beads
with some swarovski crystals thrown in.
And a simple bow on
each side.
Just a simple necklace,
but just right.

Beaded Bracelet

My Aunt finds the coolest things all the time,
I guess that's what happens when you travel the world, huh?
She got this bracelet from a Guatemalan women.
So when she brought it on Christmas vacation,
naturally in a family full of DIY-ers we figured out how to make it.
Of course, I didn't take any pictures and my attempt at the bracelet is 250 miles away.
So I will just tell you.
A simple peyote or brick stitch bracelet with a random assortment of beads on top.
Pretty simple, right?
I will tell you,
this takes
F-O-R-E-V-E-R.
My mom and I finished the bracelet in a few hours,
but adding the beads on top took forever,
so long that after about and 1" of doing it,
I had to stop.
I think I spent an hour on that 1" of bracelet alone.
But don't let my impatience stop you from trying your hand at it.
Or letting your own inspiration take over and make something beautiful.

Chain and Leather

0o0o0o, those words together give me chills!
Lately, I have been slightly obsessed with leather.
I have made a couple accessories from leather
and I am taken by it.
It looks expensive, and its so comfy.
I got a chain, my is 28" long,
and a 2 yard piece of sueded leather cording.
This project is so simple, but designers sell it for huge amounts of money!
Why buy when you can DIY, right?
I'm getting off subject,
start weaving,
over, under, over, under....
Hint:
Once you have gone through 2 or 3 links pull the leather cording through.
Make sure it is more than enough to weave the rest of the chain.
It's really hard to pull the cord through, once most of the chain is woven.
All done, with the weaving.
Like I said, my chain is 28" long,
I think it is just a tad too long. I would probably make it 25".
Let's Finish!!
Cut off the excess cording, leaving about 1 1/2"-2".
Fold the excess leather back, like pictured.
Get your needle, threaded with upholstery thread, or hand quilting thread.
(You really just need something that will hold)
Take your needle and start wrapping it around the 2 pieces of cording.
I'm not sure how to explain how I started wrapping, but the above picture does a nice job.
See how the needle goes through the 2 threads?
That's what I mean....
I wrapped it around about 5 times.
Then tied off.
Cut off the excess leather, and there you have it.

Add some large jump rings, and clasp of your choice.
A necklace or bracelet.
If you wanted to make it long enough you could also use it as a belt!
Have fun with it!
I know I love wearing it!

So simple

I am a huge fan of jewelry.
But I hate paying tons of money for it!
Especially something I can make.
This earing was my grandmothers, possibly my great grandmothers.
I have always loved it.
It has been in my mom's button box for forever, until last time I visited I snatched it.
The only thing was, a clip on?
I pulled the clip on attachment off,
just with my hands, it wasn't hard.
Got an adjustable ring,
and....

on to the next ring
Pulled the brad backing off the back, and....

....I have some new rings!

I have a feeling I am going to be wearing these a lot.
