Ribbon Gathered Skirt Tutorial Part 2

Hopefully Part 1 of this tutorial made sense to you,
and you aren't completely lost.
Just email me if you have any questions!!

STEP 1:
Sew the bottom layer together to make the skirt.

STEP 2:
Hem bottom layer of skirt.

Put the bottom layer in the top layer,
and baste.
(I didn't hem the bottom layer because I was going to change the
thread color, but I ended up not changing the color...
I'm so lazy)

STEP 3:
Get your waistband
Sew together.

STEP 4:
Fold the waistband almost in half.
Make one side longer than the other by a 1/2"
STEP 5:
Sew about 1 1/4" around the waistband.
Leaving an opening to put in the elastic.

STEP 6:
Sew together the elastic and
sew the waistband closed.
(None of this is pictured)

This picture shows the waistband and the skirt.

STEP 7:
Sew the waistband, shorter side, to the skirt.
Right sides together!!

STEP 8:
(I didn't actually do the waistband correctly, so instead I just
sergered the edge and sewed it down.)
What you need to do is....

Fold the longer side over the raw edge to cover all the yuckiness.
(I just made up that word)
This is just to make it super nice!

STEP 9:
Turn it right side out and enjoy!

STEP 10:
Gather up the ribbon!
Tie a bow!

Enjoy your new skirt!
This size skirt is a size 5-6.
Just shorten the length of the skirt and elastic for a smaller size!
