I have had lots of questions about this dress.
Here is the tutorial!
Here is the tutorial!
So I thought I would go into more detail about how it's done.
Place each piece straight on the dress/shirt and sew down the center.
When I said sew right sides together.
It means, so when it starts to curl, it will curl up the dress.
Hopefully that makes sense!
Each piece is overlapping the last strip by 1/4"
Another picture for clarification.
I haven't washed it yet. It is a little big still, so I am holding off until it fit's her well.
On the J.Crew website, it says this dress can be machined washed.
Although I would wash it in the machine, then lay flat to dry.
That way I could lay out all the layers, and no iron involved!!

This dress is amazing. Great work!! I'm in love with it!
Its great to know you sewed the strips in the center, I thought you sewed each trip one by one and flipped it over. But I do have a question, did you have to iron?
