Ask and we shall receive!!
This is my first ever pattern. I am not sure if everything is fine with it. You will have to tell me!

Please tell me if you have any questions!! I want to make sure that this pattern is easy to use.
This pattern has 2 pieces, although you only need one.
The actual dress:

Optional 2nd sleeve pattern:

The dress pattern, has everything you need, the body and sleeve.
Cut out your pieces. I added some length to the pattern in order to make it a dress.
2 sleeves and 2 dress pieces

Sew the sleeves on

Sew the sides up

Make casing for elastic

On this dress I did put elastic in the sleeves, I just don't have a picture.

I wish I had this pattern last summer :-). I bought the Sewing for Dummies pattern so I could make these for my daughter, and I love it. I have made shirts, modified it to make dresses, made it long-sleeved, etc. What a great resource you've created here!

This looks so gorgeous on your daughter - if only I had a baby girl and not a hulking great 13-year-old boy! Fiona in the UK

I made a top this evening and it turned out very cute. Thank you! I decided to use the optional sleeve pattern and although I was able to make it work, I am a bit baffled by the outer edge of the sleeves. It is curved making the sleeve shorter at the shoulder than in the underarm and also making it difficult to hem without bunching. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
K.A.

Susy, the seam allowance is not given in this pattern, so make it whatever you are comfortable with! Whether it be 1/4" or 1/2". Have fun, and I am excited to see your results! Ashley

Hi ! I love it ! I've been having trouble finding a tunic version for my toddler. I was wondering if you would consider making/posting an additional step to the one you made. I'm trying to figure out how to make that cute top you made but with an elastic fitted waist maybe even almost empire to create a type of tunic look. ex:

top fitted around the waist like this

http://www.etsy.com/listing/57199483/sunshine-tunic-top-or-dress-pdf-sewing?ref=sr_gallery_19&sref=&ga_search_query=tunic+shirt+pattern&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_order=price_asc&ga_page=20&ga_listing_id=62600782&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=

but with this shape (cap sleeves-I like this dress link below but want to learn how to replace the sewn on ribbon with hidden elastic like the first dress above)

http://www.etsy.com/listing/62600782/the-perfect-little-party-dress-pattern?ref=sr_gallery_26&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=tunic+sewing+pattern&ga_order=price_asc&ga_ship_to=US&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_page=36&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=

I tried finding a pattern and can't seem to find one anywhere either for free or for sale and have even tried googling children's tunic tutorial and children's peasant top tutorial and still can't seem to find one that isn't loose or has a ribbon around the waist (I want it to be comfy to take off and put on with an elastic waist.

I'm not sure if you even have the time or enough people who'd like to see it, but please consider it ! (basically your tutorial is almost done with the exception of the hidden/inside elastic waist.).. for a toddler to be able to wear it with jeans or leggings so more of a top than a dress but tunic like in length.
