A new dress and small tutorial

I am a pretty good seamstress, well I guess I should be since I have been sewing for about my whole life! But when I see a dress I really like I can just see the different shapes of the pieces needed to make the certain garment. So I saw this dress for my daughter and though sure I'll try it! I drew out what it was supposed to look like, here is the front and back view.
Here are the pattern pieces
Just a little tutorial on how to turn really long skinny things inside out!
Separate the fabric
Push a knitting needle or some other long skinny object in there
Start to gather the fabric on the needle, push out the corners to make everything nice then take out the knitting needle and pull out the fabric.
Hopefully that made sense! I am not sure why no one tells anyone else these sewing secrets! Another sewing secret that is not really known for some insane reason is trimming! Like here on the collar! Trimming is totally necessary on curves, it gets rid of a lot of bulk and makes the curve lay nice.
With a little shirring.....
and sewing everything together, here it is!
I love how everything turned out. Unfortunately this dress is about 2 sizes too big for my little 2 year old daughter!

Found your blog on the linky party from crafy eNVy. I think it's great that you can make up your own patterns! The result is just lovely, I'm sure your daughter can't wait to get a little older so she can wear it.
